What’s it like to stay in a treehouse?

Not many people have stayed in a treehouse and the first time you do, you really don’t know what to expect.

It’s recommended to have a stay of 2 nights at the treehouse, because once you get into the swing of things you can really enjoy it a second time around. But the first time is really exciting. And what could be more romantic than staying in a treehouse?

A new perspective

One of the first things about your stay is the sense of being up in the trees. It’s not that high off the ground and you won’t feel scared in any way, but it is a different perspective. A treehouse means you stay above ground, not looking out of a window, but instead walking around on an elevated deck and doing things up there you may not be able to do at home.

But more than your physical sense of change you’ll experience a mental and emotional difference. A treehouse stay is completely different, although in a homely and familiar way.

What is there to do up in the treehouse?

Doing absolutely nothing except relax and enjoy the surroundings is probably the most unusual thing. With fewer distractions than at home, but good wifi when needed, you can really sense a change of scene. Even if your treehouse stay is just in a part of the UK, not too far from London, you could be miles away. It really does feel different.

One thing you must try out on your treehouse stay is the outdoor bath. It’s a roll-top double ended bath – sociable one could say. With robes provided and bags of hot water, you can make the short trip from the bedroom straight into a steaming bath with a view.

Then there is the swing chair. It’s a space within a space. You can gently rock back and forwards whilst watching out over the countryside. It’s spacious for one, but there is room for two.

You can have your breakfast outside on the treehouse deck, or have a barbeque one evening. It’s outdoor living, just at a higher level. As time stands slows down, you’ll have plenty of time to do things.

Try a sauna in a treehouse

More and more people in the UK are installing a sauna in their home, but how many have a sauna in their treehouse? Not only do you have an outside bath, but now you also have a treehouse with a sauna. And what a special experience it is. It has one side floor to ceiling glass, for uninterrupted views of the countryside. Skip back to the bathroom for a refreshing shower after your sauna or just relax in the cool air of the deck area in a bath robe.

A UK treehouse stay

Like all good hotels, a touch of luxury is included here. Not only are there new experiences, but high-quality linen and towels, with luxurious bath products too. It’s a luxury break as well as an experience. And if you don’t want to cook, then there are some great restaurants and gastro pubs close by.

That’s what a treehouse stay is like at Happenoak, one the UK’s premier treehouse stays.
